Dr. Tyler Livesay, PT, DPT - Owner

Hello, my name is Dr. Tyler Livesay, PT, DPT, and I am the owner of Advance Performance Physical Therapy, LLC. I started my journey by getting my bachelors degree in Exercise Science from Tennessee Tech University, where I started my journey in the fitness community as a CrossFit coach at CrossFit Mayhem.

I went on to complete my doctorate degree of physical therapy at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in St. Augustine, FL. With a strong passion of weightlifting and powerlifting, I also enjoy spending free time outdoors, hiking, and riding my dirt bike.

Starting a business has been a passion of mine and I am thrilled to offer my services to the greater Upper Cumberland community.

• Comprehensive Evaluation and Treatment

Individualized 1-on-1 sessions to accurately and deliberately assess your condition and create a customized treatment plan

Cost per session (evaluation or treatment) is $170

• Dry Needling

A targeted technique using monofilaments (acupuncture needles), to relieve muscle tension, decreasing stress which reduces pain and improve mobility and function

If you have had an evaluation, you may elect for dry needling only for $75

• Cupping

Improves circulation to a certain area and speeds up recovery by relieves muscle stiffness and soreness

• Kinesio Taping

Taping technique which provides support for injured muscles and joints while maintaining mobility and function

• Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) Training

A cutting-edge method to enhance strength and recovery using light loads, ideal for the current rehab candidate. Treatment can be used on those with ACL repairs, total knee replacements, rotator cuff repair, and many more.

1. What is private pay physical therapy?

Private pay physical therapy means a client/patient pay directly for services without involving insurance. This allows for personalized, one-on-one care without restrictions set by insurance or physician's.

2. Do you accept insurance?

Fortunately for you we do not accept insurance. Like stated above, we believe that insurance is a barrier to our care and limits our ability to fully take control of our bodies. You can decide what is best for you without insurance denying your coverage.

3. What are the benefits of private pay physical therapy?

Private pay physical therapy offers personalized, 1-on-1 sessions and treatment sessions, and flexibility without limitations from insurance approvals or visit caps.

4. Do I need a doctor's referral?

In the states of Tennessee, physical therapist are available via direct access which means you do not need a referral to schedule a session with us.

5. What should I expect during my first visit?

Your first session will include a thorough evaluation to identify impairments that could lead to pain in some cases. Followed by hands-on treatment and a tailored physical therapy plan to improve your pain and help you return to things that you love.

6. How long is the evaluation and treatment session?

Sessions are typically 60-minutes and are focused entirely on you, ensuring a detailed and effective treatment experience.

Those who have had an evaluation, can receive dry needling for approximately 30 minutes

7. How much does each session cost?

For an evaluation or treatment session, it is $170 per session.

Those who have had an evaluation can elect for dry needling for $75 per session.

8. Can I use my HSA or FSA card to pay for services?

Yes, physical therapy is generally an eligible expense for Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA).
